Cupples and Sons Construction Inc. was born in 1976, as Cupples Construction, before Rick Cupples had his two sons Casey, and Cole. Rick began his business with a small loan from the Savings Bank of Mendocino County, to cover a few necessary tools and insurance.
Rick focused primarily on residential construction until 1994, with clients from the Bay Area to the Mendocino Coast. In 1994, Cupples broke into the commercial realm with its first of many projects for the County of Mendocino. Since that time, the Cupples and Sons team has continued to thrive in the commercial building industry.
Both Rick’s sons became involved in the business from the time they could walk. Casey served for many years as a carpenter and foreman, now leading the team as the Project Manager. Cole’s passion for equipment and earthwork was realized at a young age and he founded Cupples Excavating in 2014.
Cupples has always believed in keeping a small, well-trained, and effective crew. We have five full-time crewmembers, all of whom are skilled in both carpentry and concrete construction. This allows Cupples to self-perform a large majority of projects that we undertake. We pride ourselves on a committed, long-term crew, with half of our team being with us over 15 years.
Rick Cupples, owner, and President of Cupples and Sons Construction, has been in business for himself since 1976, over 45 years. In 2001, the company became incorporated. Rick has been in construction all his life, with over 50 years of experience. Rick’s reputation for quality and expertise in his trade has kept him serving community members turned friends throughout his career.
Casey Cupples is the Vice President and Senior Project Manager for Cupples and Sons Construction. Casey has over 15 years of formal construction experience, working both as a carpenter and on the management team as a second-generation contractor. Casey is committed to finishing projects on time and is known for his skills in scheduling, coordination, and planning. Casey also has great strength and skill in design builds for both commercial and residential projects.
